From Boston modern rock outlet WBCN comes this set of live material. There's stuff from big-league types, as well as hometown heroes, who run amiably through their somewhat unlikely alternative radio hit. Radiohead is also here with a version of "Permanent Daylight," making Naked of note to that band's constituency of rabid completists. But despite these highlights, the album suffers under the yoke of Too Much Post-Grunge. The bands' respective takes on the bellow, crunch, and wail formula are predictably shrill in a live setting, overcompensating for the enormity of their studio sound by turning everything to 12 and accelerating to ludicrous speed.
