Originally released in 2006, this new 4-CD slipcase package includes the quintet’s complete Prestige Records output, recorded between 1956 and 1961: the albums "Miles," "Cookin'," "Relaxin'," "Workin'," "Steamin" and the classic track "Round Midnight," which appears on "Miles Davis and the Modern Jazz Giants." Joined by John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones on 32 classic tunes like "Stablemates," "There Is No Greater Love," "In Your Own Sweet Way," "Trane's Blues," "Ahmad's Blues," "Surrey with the Fringe on Top," "Well You Needn't," "Half Nelson," "I Could Write a Book," "Oleo," "My Funny Valentine," and more. The 4th disc consists of 8 additional audio recordings from various TV and radio appearances, including several bonus tracks not among the 32 studio recordings: "Max Is Making Wax" (Tonight Starring Steve Allen), "Walkin'" (live at the Blue Note), "Bye Bye Blackbird" (live at the Café Bohemia) and "Two Bass Hit" (live at the Café Bohemia). Also includes a 52-page booklet with notes by jazz historian Bob Blumenthal. Fantasy.
