After releasing their 1988 debut LP on SST, Soundgarden realized they weren’t happy with the mix and decided to remix it for future pressings—but then A&M signed them and they got to work on "Louder Than Love," their major-label debut. So, the "Ultramega OK" remix plan was shelved—’til 2016, when they acquired the original tapes and started mixing with engineer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Mudhoney). While they were at it, they dug up six early versions recorded in ’87; it’s all here: two versions each of "Head Injury," "Beyond the Wheel," "Incessant Mace," "He Didn’t," "All Your Lies" and more.
