Brian Robbins's film--starring David Arquette, Rose McGowan, and Oliver Platt--about the surreal world of professional wrestling features the adrenaline-pumping soundtrack you'd expect: Kid Rock, Motley Crue, the Offspring, even Run-DMC all make an appearance. No ballads need apply. By including music "inspired" by the motion picture as well as music actually from the film, the soundtrack pumps up to 13 tracks. Twisted Sister's mid-1980s rebellion anthem "We're Not Gonna Take It" is closely replicated by Bif Naked, while DJ Hurricane, featuring Stone Temple Pilots' singer Scott Weiland, cut, paste, and reinterpret Queen's mid-1970s anthem "We Will Rock You" into a disjointed jam. For humor's sake, Ahmet and Dweezil Zappa try their hand at Britney Spears's "...Baby One More Time," giving it a guitar-heavy translation. Kid Rock's "Bawitdaba" is retooled by Josh Abraham for the "Lower Than You" remix. The album is essentially one long body slam.
