Johnny Winter was one of the leading lights of the blues-rock movement in the '60s, and he was a tireless road warrior, touring frequently and playing high-energy shows across the country until his death in 2014. But for some reason, Winter had never played Japan, a nation with plenty of enthusiastic blues fans, until April 15, 2011, when Winter and his band took the stage at the Zepp Music Hall in Tokyo. A mobile recording system was on hand to capture the historic event, and Live from Japan documents a typically fiery show from the Texas guitar slinger, showing off his powerful instrumental style as he wails through a set of blues standards. Songs include "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl," "Dust My Broom," "Blackjack," "It's All Over Now," "Highway 61 Revisited," and many more.
