The soundtrack might be called Blue Note Meets Noir. The characteristic Blue Note sound comes from Donald Byrd, trumpet, Walter Davis, piano, Doug Watkins, bass and Al Leavitt, drums. French tenorman Barney Wilen and American expatriate guitarist Jimmy Gourley add a touch of Gallic Noir. The jazz is mostly improvised but bits of Dizzy Gillespie's "A Night I Tunisia" are also present. Its reminiscent of the jazz soundtracks for French crime films, scored by Miles Davis, Duke Jordan, Art Blakey
