Bronx rapper and producer Diamond D. originally got his start in the group Ultimate Force in the late 1980's. The group would disband after their debut album was shelved by MCA Records- which led him to start the role as a producer. He then started a collective- Diggin' In The Crates, or D.I.T.C.- which also included Showbiz & A.G., O.C., Buckwild, Big L and a pre-Terror Squad Fat Joe. In the Fall of 1992, released his classic debut "Stunts, Blunts & Hip Hop"- an album that was anchored by the singles "Best Kept Secret" and "Sally Got A One Track Mind". In between albums, he continued to produce songs for the likes of Illegal, Busta Rhymes, Tha Alkaholiks and the song from the "Panther" motion picture, which he produced with Dallas Austin. By the time he issued his sophomore set "Hatred, Passions And Infidelity", he was five years removed from his debut. He had a very lengthy battle with his former label- the Stock Aitken Waterman owned Chemistry Records- which delayed the album. When it was released during hip hop materialistic album, it was barely noticed, and the Universal-PolyGram merger that was right around the corner didn't help matters either. In the 2000's, he released three albums independently- a mixtape and his long-shelved debut with his former group the Ultimate Force. In 2011, he surprised everyone by producing the song "Shine" on Pharoahe Monch's album "W.A.R. (We Are Renegades)". That gave Diamond D. the sign to proceed with a new album and he did just that by releasing "The Diam Piece" in late 2014.
