his 19-song compilation, which draws relatively evenly between CSN's first incarnation and the '80s reunion that spawned some of their biggest hits, is sure to resonate with longtime fans, who are likely to be singing along within moments of each track's onset. The focus, of course, is on the trio's dulcet harmonies -- the fuel that propelled songs like "Helplessly Hoping" and "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" to classic status -- but there are also nods to more electric offerings (the surprisingly jagged "Wooden Ships," for one). The reformed version of the group is nicely represented with songs like "Wasted on the Way" and the closing "Daylight Again" suite, both of which present Crosby, Stills & Nash's matured voices in a nicely burnished context. Although it doesn't include any of the material the trio recorded with Neil Young on board, the collection goes a long way toward capturing the spirit that nurtured CSN in the first place, as well as the resiliency that inspires folks to listen more than three decades on.
