On January 1st, 2010, Charlie Faye pulled out of her hometown of Austin, Texas, to embark on a modern bohemian adventure. In ten months, Charlie made her home in ten different towns; Tucson, AZ, Los Angeles, CA, Portland, OR, Boulder, CO, Shreveport, LA, Burlington, VT, Milwaukee, WI, Nashville, TN, Asheville, NC, and New York, NY. -- -- Instead of touring the traditional way, going from town to town, night after night, Charlie decided to settle in and put down roots in these ten different cities, each for a full month. In every city, she put together a band of local musicians, played shows, and wrote and recorded a new song. The album recorded on this journey, Travels With Charlie, gained critical acclaim and reached #7 on the Americana Radio Chart. -- Charlie's newest release, You Were Fine, You Weren't Even Lonely, was recorded in L.A. with Will Sexton, Jay Bellerose, and Jen Condos. Now, when Charlie isn't employing her local bands, she'll play solo, plugging her guitar into a 70's Califone record player that functions as an amp. In place of a live band, she'll spin Bellerose and Condos' drum and bass parts on a record behind her and groove with her favorite rhythm section on vinyl. -- Charlie's history also includes touring as a sideman with Dan Zanes and Greg Garing, as well as playing alongside many others, including Natalie Merchant, BettySoo, and Will Sexton.
