Bruce Robison is a fantastic songwriter, and these are fantastic songs. Bruce's voice sounds great, and the recording of "Traveling Soldier" is awesome. The real appeal of Bruce Robison is his ability to deliver songs in a live setting with earnestness and humor. If you have the option, go see him play a small acoustic show. That experience will leave these recordings in the dust. This album is still well worth the price, and it trumps a lot of what Nashville is putting out. Plus, it's kind of amusing to listen to Bruce singing the love songs that were written for women to sing about men. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
