Following tours with The Cult, New Order, and the Smiths as drummer with Factory Records band Lavolta Lakota, Mike Simmi left to form B.F.G. in the summer of 1985. Joined by BJ Williams on vocals, Keith Lambert on bass, Acky on guitar and El Thomas on samples. B.F.G. began to make a name for themselves basing their sound around a thumping bass line and screaming guitars. Under-the-radar 80's Manchester band B.F.G. released its second and final record, Blue, in 1989. A forgotten classic, this masterpiece of industrial desolation across hard driving danceable dark rhythms recalls such contemporaries as Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division, and the Jesus & Mary Chain. Out-of-print on vinyl for almost a quarter century and remastered by Masterdisk especially for this vinyl reissue; Drastic Plastic presents faithful, updated reproductions of the 1989 release on hand-numbered, collectible 180g and colored LPs.
